Up for grabs is a reproduction of the (Technical Manual) TM 11-392 describing the use of the SE-11 Signal Lamp Equipment, also sometimes referred to as the "M-227".
The SE-11 was one of several types of signaling equipment used by U.S. Army Pathfinders to mark the drop zone ("DZ") for parachute landings and for other types of silent signaling. There were two editions of TM-392 done during WWII, one dated April 17, 1943 and the other dated June 30, 1943. This a copy the June 1943 as that is the original that I have in my collection. This manual was included in the SE-11's BG-131 bag, along with the M-227 signal light and other equipment.
This manual was reproduced from an original and is a very faithful copy. Same 20 pages as the June edition, in the same format, size layout - and the cover on my original is an odd grey colour, not the usual tan/light dusty brown colour, so I copied that odd colour, too. Here's an opportunity for those who have the SE-11, but are missing the manual, to obtain an increasingly scarce manual which describes the operation of the signal equipment.
If you don't like the colour, don't buy it. It's almost the same colour as my original on the inside cover that isn't too faded (unlike the cover that has faded a lot!). If you wish this was the light brown colour, then don't buy it. Why is my original grey... no idea... why is it not brown... again.... no idea... I reproduced the one I have... apologies to all who don't like that fact.
